Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller,

his original Eames Desk Unit (EDU) is a classic example of American Mid-Century Modern design. Introduced in 1952, the EDU was conceived as a beautifully practical solution for the modern office, balancing efficiency, structure, and visual expression.

The desk features a black painted metal frame with signature cross-bracing, a plywood work surface, and an integrated right-side file drawer. Produced in two original color schemes Multi and Natural this example reflects the Multiconfiguration, with birch drawer fronts paired with brightly colored side and back panels in red, white, blue, and yellow. The clean industrial framework combined with bold color blocking highlights the Eames iconic, functional yet expressive design philosophy.

Constructed from wood and steel, the desk also includes original nylon glides designed to be gentle on floors. Both highly functional and visually striking, the Eames Desk Unit remains a defining piece of mid-century modern office design and an enduring Herman Miller classic. This piece is an authentic, licensed original produced by Herman Miller.
