Pair of Eames Soft Pad Lounge Chairs for Herman Miller – Two-Tone / Fabric & Suede Leather
Eames for Herman Miller
An iconic and exceptionally comfortable pair of Eames Soft Pad Lounge Chairs, originally designed by Charles & Ray Eames in 1969 for Herman Miller. Part of the celebrated Soft Pad Group collection, this design evolved from the earlier Aluminum Group series by introducing generously padded cushions while preserving the clean architectural lines and lightweight aluminum frame that made the original design famous.
This exceptional pair features a sophisticated two-tone upholstery combination, with the front cushions professionally restored in textured gray Maharam fabric and the reverse sides upholstered in luxurious deep blue-black genuine suede leather. The contrast between the soft woven fabric and rich suede leather creates a distinctive, understated elegance that beautifully complements the polished cast aluminum frames.
The chairs' suspended seating system naturally conforms to the body, while the generously padded cushions provide outstanding comfort for extended lounging, reading, or conversation. Integrated aluminum armrests on both sides, fixed four-star bases, and smooth 360-degree swivel mechanisms provide both comfort and functionality while maintaining the chairs' elegant architectural profiles.
These timeless lounge chairs offer a refined combination of mid-century modern design, exceptional craftsmanship, and contemporary material contrast, making them a striking addition to any living room, lounge, office, or curated modern interior.
